And the winner is.....
“A righteous man reguardeth the life (and name???) of his beast.” Proverbs 12:10We are supposed to do what? Well, I called this family counsel to name the cat. Name the cat???? Don’t we just call it “cat”, questioned Ethadahl? Well no, I said, if we are going to have a cat, it should have a nice name. All my students looked very puzzled, and yet resigned to this latest requirement from their teacher. I then produced my list of names. As I read through the list, their bewilderment grew. What is “butcher”, and “gobble”, and “Feefee”? So, we pulled out the dictionaries, and they all settled down to discern the meanings of all the different words on my list. Snickers went around the table at first one name and then another. The cat sat on his grass panel and didn’t say a word. We finally narrowed the list down to Justice, Hero, M16, and Cat. ( Ethadahl was sure that calling it cat would be good enough) So, we instigated a vote, and the winner was.... Justice! So, now our cat has a nice new name. He really doesn’t care much, but he will when we start using it to call him to supper.
