A Happy Ending

One morning, a loving husband and father leaves the hut like he always does to go to work. The mother busies herself around the home, caring for her four small children, pounding the rice, washing the clothes, and makes a special curry for her husband’s supper. Evening comes, and the children watch the path to see who can spot father coming home first. But father never comes home. The poor mother can only wonder what happened to him…nobody seems to know. She has no way to make a living to support her children, and when the food is almost gone  strangers come, offering to buy her children from her. She adamantly refuses, but still wonders what she can do to keep herself and her children from starving. This is where we entered the picture. A church member told her about us, and how we help people who need help. She asks if she can come and live with us and help us so that she can keep her little family together. Of course we agree, and preparations are made to receive this family. But, today we got a phone call with an incredible ending to a familiar story. The father went to his fields to work that day months ago, and was kidnapped by human traffickers. They took him to Bangkok and made him work. But, due to the severe flooding, this man has been able to escape and is now with his family again! They called to tell us how much they appreciated the food that we gave them and our willingness to help. This is the only story that I have heard that has ended so happily. We are so thankful to God for helping this little family. Now for some new pictures...
