Our trip to Mae Sot last week
Sometimes it is amazing how life can change so quickly. This past week, our students needed to take a short break to go and get more rice. So, we decided to also take a short break and go and get my visa renewed in Mae Sot.As soon as we got there I got two interesting emails. One was from a friend who said that they had work for Roy, and were asking if he could come back to America right away. I immediately thought of my empty bank account. But, what is an empty bank account when you have a great big God?The very next email I opened was from Travis telling me that he had arrived safely in Thailand, and by the way…would we happen to need money for a plane ticket? He knew that our visas were about expired and thought that we might need some money, which he happened to have! Isn’t that amazing? Roy and I looked at each other knowing full well that God meant for him to go back right away. Praise God for work right when it is needed! The next day, I headed to the border for my visa run. I was so happy that they were all very nice to me and gave me what was needed. But, after going back and starting to shop for plane tickets, we realized that I also need to go back right away, otherwise the price of plane tickets will be so much I could not afford to go. (My visa will expire during the holidays when it is the most expensive to travel.) So we have added that to our prayer list.We were able to buy tickets for Roy already. He will fly back to America this Wednesday, September 24, and will be back there until January 12. That is a long time for him to be away from us, but that just seems to be a part of being a missionary…long separations. Seems like we are always missing somebody! But, the great news is that Sarah and Travis are back in Asia and should arrive here on Tuesday. I think that everyone is excited about that event. So, we are praising God for all His amazing blessings, while mourning over the fact that we will not be together for a while. We sure are looking forward to eternity where there will be no more long separations, and no more worries or tears. That day is coming very soon, and we long to be ready for it.
